James 2:1-9
"My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet," have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? But you have insulted the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? Are they not the ones who are slandering the noble name of him to whom you belong? If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers."
If you accept only the so called "normal" people you are really just fooling yourself. Sometimes those people are not the kindest or the most Godly, despite their appearance. They are like apples that the center has gone bad, most of the time you can't tell it's gone bad until you bite or cut into it, however; if you look close enough there are signs to the rotting on the inside. While other's may look very different, or rough on the outside, they may have the sweetest hearts and the most amazing relationship with God. These people are more like bananas, the black spotty ones are the sweetest and you can make the best banana bread out of them, but unfortunately some people are fooled by this, think they have gone bad and throw them away.
I guess what I'm trying to say, is we should treat everyone equal, no matter who they are, what their beliefs are, or how they appear to live their life. If you just reject someone or treat them badly simply because they are different, you may never get the chance to know how truly amazing they are as a person. And, everyone is worthy of respect and love. We should always treat others they way we want to be treated. Actually, they should be treated better, by treating them in the same way Christ himself would treat them.
".....if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers."
